Who We Are

The Philadelphia Belt Line Railroad (PBL) is a rail terminal switching carrier with the primary mission of serving the Port of Philadelphia and local industries.

Our History and Track

In 1889, PBL was chartered for the purpose of guaranteeing that the waterfront of the City of Philadelphia would always be open to any railroad company either in the city at that time or at any time in the future.

Since that time, PBL has entered into agreements with other railroad companies and corporations.
